Google Street View was first introduced in the United States on May 25, 2007, and until November 26, 2008, featured camera icon markers, each representing at least one major city or area (such as a park), and usually the other nearby cities, towns, suburbs, and parks. Many areas that had coverage were not represented by icons.  (Wikipedia)

watchdog’s under construction or press freedom la finita

The Press Freedom Index of Armenia is 111 out of 175 in the latest worldwide index for 2009 according to Reporters Without Borders.

In 2008 Armenia placed 102nd.

The most significant development in the former Soviet periphery is the deterioration in the Caucasus, where two of its three independent countries – Armenia (102nd) and Georgia (120th) – had major problems and introduced states of emergency. Several journalists fell victim to the sudden outbreak of war in Georgia“,- reported RWB in 2008.

I wonder whether the deterioration of press freedom will proceed in 2010 as well.
